Jonathan is a dedicated teacher with experience teaching cello lessons to a wide range of ages and abilities in a variety of settings. Currently he serves on the faculty of the pre-college division for the Schwob School of Music Preparatory Program in Columbus, GA. For the past several years he has provided instruction to cellists across the United States and internationally via online Zoom lessons, gaining expereience in the intricacies of online instruction, even before the current pandemic. He has served on the faculty of the Orion Chamber Music Society’s String Camp in Troy, Michigan, as well as the BJU EduCamps.

His students have a proven record of success, including successful auditions into youth orchestra programs such as principal cello with the Greenville County Youth Orchestras, section positions with the Greater Columbus Youth Orchestra and the Carolina Youth Symphony, and graded examinations through the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB). He has also prepared students for successful college music program auditions.

To further promote successful learning on the cello, Jonathan authores an educational blog entitled Cello Life on various aspects of learning and performing on the cello. He brings his experience as a performer, soloist, chamber musician, and artistic administrator to aid his students in their chosen paths in music.
